Cambridge Intellectual Property Law Firm Expands Into 2011

Cambridge, MA, February 11, 2011 – Lando and Anastasi, LLP (L&A) today announced the election of Catherine M. McCarty as a partner of the firm. "We are excited to have Cathy join the partnership," noted Louis Myers, a partner of L&A. "Cathy brings tremendous strength to our life sciences practice, and particularly to the small molecule and pharmaceutical aspects of our practice," he added. 

Cathy was previously an associate at L&A and joined the firm in January 2008 as part of the Biotech and Pharmaceutical group which came to us from Fish & Richardson. Cathy's practice is diverse and includes counseling, prosecution, due diligence, and litigation support.  She works in a broad range of technologies including small molecule drug discovery and development, pharmaceuticals, solid forms, drug formulations, chemical processes, and polymers.  Cathy's approach to her client's IP needs is comprehensive and integrates patent, scientific, regulatory and business issues. 

Prior to becoming an attorney, Cathy worked as a medicinal chemist in drug discovery at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Abbott Laboratories, and Parke-Davis (now Pfizer). She is an inventor on five issued U.S. patents.

Cathy graduated from Harvard Law School, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, with honors, from Indiana University and a Master of Science degree in chemistry from Yale University.
