Associate Growth at Lando & Anastasi

We are pleased to announce that Cristin Berkey, Ph.D. and Dominic Yee, Ph.D. have been elevated to associates in the firm’s Life Sciences practice group.

Dr. Berkey joined L&A as a Patent Agent in February 2014. She has particular expertise prosecuting patents in the areas of antibody therapeutics, anitsense RNA, microorganism based therapies and stem cell technology. Prior to entering the field of law, Dr. Berkey was a postdoctoral fellow at Children’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School in the lab of Dr. Paula Watnick, where she studied the role of the NF-kappa B pathway in immunity and infection in fruit flies. As a graduate student, she worked in the lab of Dr. Marian Carlson at Columbia University, studying the Snf1/AMPK pathway in yeast and its role in fungal pathogenesis. Dr. Berkey received her J.D. at Boston College Law School, her Ph.D. in Genetics and Developmental Biology from Columbia University and her B.S. in Biology cum laude from Tufts University.

Dr. Yee joined L&A as a Technology Specialist in May 2012, after working for several years as a research scientist at Vertex Pharmaceuticals. He has particular expertise in prosecuting patents in the areas of organic synthesis, molecular imaging, nanotechnology, and industrial drug development. Dr. Yee was a postdoctoral research fellow with Nobel laureate Roger Y. Tsien, where he worked on new strategies for directing therapeutic and imaging agent delivery to cancer sites. Dr. Yee was instrumental in building the Sames molecular imaging program at Columbia University and in 2005 earned the ACS Medicinal Division Fellowship for developing novel fluorogenic reporter probes and assays for monitoring cellular redox processes. Dr. Yee received his J.D at Suffolk University Law School, his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Columbia University and his B.S in Chemistry/Biochemistry magna cum laude and Departmental Honors with High Distinction from the University of California, San Diego. While attending Suffolk University Law School, Dr. Yee was awarded the Suffolk University Law School Trustee Academic Scholarship.
