Technology Specialists and Associates. L&A has experienced recent growth and is seeking resumes from individuals interested in its Technology Specialist Program and from patent attorneys with 1-3 years of experience. This is an exciting opportunity for bright and dedicated individuals to work with a broad range of clients, including start-ups, investors, universities, and medium-sized and large public companies. Candidates should have outstanding academic credentials and excellent communication and writing skills. Candidates must be creative, detail-oriented, have excellent organizational skills, be able to multi-task, and enjoy working both independently and as a member of a team in a cutting-edge environment. Successful candidates will work closely with more senior members of the firm on a wide variety of intellectual property matters including patent prosecution, opinion work, due diligence and general intellectual property counseling. Law school attendance for Technical Specialists, although encouraged, is not mandatory.
Candidates interested in applying for positions with our biotechnology and pharmaceutical practice should have strong technical skills and an advanced degree in chemistry (e.g., medicinal chemistry or synthetic chemistry), or biotechnology (e.g., molecular biology). Docketing Paralegal. Seeking experienced professional with IP docketing experience. CPI and IPDAS database experience a plus. Must have the ability to multi-task, work independently and posses strong communication skills. Candidate must have an understanding of patent and/or trademark prosecution; 2-5 years of IP docketing experience required. Salary commensurate with experience. Bachelor's degree required. Paralegal certificate a plus.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to): Handles intake process (new clients and new matter numbers). Handles all docketing and document management functions related to all IP prosecution matters; enters all information in docketing database. Handles the docketing of incoming and outgoing communications and ensures that all final deadlines are timely met. Clears the daily "final deadlines" for the firm. Keeps current with patent and trademark practice rules and regulations worldwide.
