Austin's practice focuses on patent prosecution in the computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and medical device fields. He works with clients ranging from startups involving one or two people to multinational corporations.

Austin drafts patent applications and prosecutes them to allowance, both in the US and abroad, and counsels clients with strategic guidance in patent portfolio development. He also provides litigation support, analyzing existing patents for infringement and invalidity contentions.
