Lachlan practices in the life sciences group and assists in the preparation and prosecution of U.S. and foreign patent applications, performs freedom to operate and patentability analyses, and conducts due diligence reviews.

Lachlan brings extensive experience in synthetic organic chemistry to the life sciences group. His doctoral research focused on the total syntheses of complex indole alkaloids, and the development of MRSA pyruvate kinase inhibitors. During his post-doctoral research at Boston University he developed new reaction methods, including multicomponent condensations, and asymmetric organocatalytic allenylations and allylations.

Lachlan is the lead author of several scientific articles in journals including Chemical Communications and Journal of Natural Products, and he has contributed a chapter to the chemistry book series The Alkaloids.
