Ryan brings several years of experience as a Primary Patent Examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office to his patent prosecution practice with L&A’s Electronics and Computer Technology & Software Groups.  At the USPTO, Ryan focused on image analysis technologies, including artificial intelligence, pattern recognition and data compression, and he achieved Masters’ level equivalency in the art related to image analysis.

Ryan’s interest and background in robotics, optoelectronics and image-analysis technologies such as medical imaging, biometrics, pattern recognition, augmented reality, compression, encryption, optical character recognition (OCR), and artificial intelligence are deep-rooted.  His professional and volunteer experience prior to the USPTO includes Shoeboxed, Inc., an OCR-focused company, and robotics-related volunteer work and competitions with F.I.R.S.T. Robotics.
