Wei practices in the life sciences group.  She drafts and prosecutes U.S. and foreign patent applications, performs freedom to operate and patentability analyses, and conducts due diligence reviews.  She works with clients ranging from multi-national pharmaceutical companies to biotechnology start-ups.  Wei has extensive knowledge in the areas of immunology, antibody, protein and polynucleotide therapies.

Prior to joining L&A, Wei worked as an in-house patent agent at a pioneer immune-oncology company, where she worked cross-functionally with management and R&D to develop and implement IP strategies to protect innovative technologies worldwide.  She also interned at Boehringer Ingelheim and the Yale University Office of Cooperative Research.

Wei earned a Ph.D. in cell biology at Yale University.  Supervised by Dr. Peter Cresswell (member of the National Academy of Sciences), she focused on regulation of major histocompatibility complex antigen presentation.  Wei is the lead author of scientific articles in several journals including Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America and Journal of Biological Chemistry.
