A forecast of the fascinating future of global law practice
The firm is pleased to share that Partner John Spangenberger has been recognized by Lawdragon in their 2025 Lawdragon 500 X – The Next Generation (“LDX500”) guide.
The LDX500 guide, now in its third year, uses a selection process created over decades of researching and reporting on the legal profession and more than a century in legal journalism. Alongside industry research, editors consider thousands of nominations of lawyers from around the globe who’ve proven themselves early in private practice, accruing credentials, deals, and cases early and often. The majority of lawyers have been in practice between seven and fifteen years. Most of those recognized are partners in their firms, most often elevated in the past few years. They are emerging in leadership positions in their practice and firm.
John’s career trajectory is no exception. John was elevated to the firm’s partnership in January 2024 after more than 7 years as a Patent Agent and then Associate. He has hit the ground running in the partnership, participating in the firm’s Practice Committee; contributing thought leadership to the firm’s resource library; and mentoring more junior members of the team.
What truly distinguishes John is his dedication to legal education and community service, serving as an adjunct professor teaching a legal writing course to law students not much younger than himself. John’s commitment to nurturing entrepreneurial talent is particularly noteworthy, as he frequently volunteers as both advisor and judge for student entrepreneurship competitions, bridging the gap between legal expertise and innovation. In a time where the legal profession seeks leaders who combine technical excellence with genuine impact, John represents the ideal of the modern legal leader: accomplished, generous with his expertise, and deeply invested in building a stronger legal community for the future.
