Viglione v. Secret Boston LLC (22-cv-10650).

  • May 2, 2022

Photographer Keith Viglione sued Secret Boston for using one of his photographs on its www.secretboston.net website.  Viglione took a photograph of the Prudential Tower in Boston lit up with the phrase “GO B’s” in the lead-up to the Bruins’ appearance in the 2019 Stanely Cup playoffs.  Viglione registered his copyright in the photograph, and further placed his “617 IMAGES” watermark on the photograph.  He learned that Secret Boston had placed copies of the photograph on its Facebook and Instagram pages without authorization.  Secret Boston did remove the images upon being contacted by Viglione, but has refused to pay for the time that the photograph was on its social media.
