Lando & Anastasi Welcomes Gwen Buel, Ph.D. to Life Sciences Team

Lando & Anastasi, LLP (L&A) is pleased to welcome Gwen Buel, Ph.D, to the firm’s Life Sciences practice group.

Gwen is a Technology Specialist with a focus on biotechnology and the biological sciences. She supports clients through the drafting and prosecution of U.S. and international patent applications and conducts patentability, freedom to operate, and due diligence analyses. Her technical expertise spans biology, biochemistry, and structural biology, with particular experience in cell signaling, protein–protein interactions, and NMR based protein structure determination.

Prior to joining the firm, Gwen worked as a Senior Scientist at a Cambridge based biotechnology company, where she developed novel protein purification methodologies and optimized in vitro encapsidation techniques for nucleic acid payloads. She previously conducted postdoctoral research at the National Cancer Institute (NIH), applying advanced structural biology and analytical methods and integrating structure prediction tools such as AlphaFold to study complex biomolecular interactions.

Gwen earned her Ph.D. in Biological and Biomedical Sciences from Harvard University and a B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Vermont.
