  • June 9, 2026

“They are the future of the law. And, in many respects, the now.”

The firm is pleased to share that Partners Angelyn Larkin, Ph.D. and John Spangenberger have been recognized by Lawdragon in their 2026 Lawdragon 500 X – The Next Generation (LDX) guide.

Lawdragon remarks, “[this year’s] honorees inspire us”, in its editorial introduction of the impressive group of attorneys that will carry the legal profession into the future. We feel the same way about our next generation of L&A partners, including Angelyn and John. Both have impressive legal credentials and serve clients at the forefront of their fields, but what makes them stand apart is their commitment to moving forward the practice of law and mentoring those coming up behind them. We are pleased that Lawdragon has recognized this, as well.

Angelyn is the youngest partner to become the head of L&A’s life sciences practice, which is testament to her remarkable talents. In a short period of time, Angelyn has grown the group three-fold, to include an impressive team of PhD-level practitioners who work together to serve the firm’s clients with the utmost technological skills. She also is an emerging leader in the life sciences patent law community, frequently sharing her thought leadership at industry events, and she continues to mentor and inspire the next generation of life sciences leaders.

John was elevated to the firm’s partnership in 2024 after more than 7 years as a Patent Agent and then Associate at L&A. He made an immediate impact on the firm, serving on the firm’s Practice Committee; steering the firm’s AI initiatives; contributing thought leadership; and mentoring more junior members of the team. John is also active in teaching, professional leadership, and community service. He serves as the president of the Boston Chapter of the International Network of Boutique & Independent Law Firms (INBLF) and he is also Board President of Groundwork Somerville, an environmental nonprofit based in Somerville, Massachusetts.

About The Lawdragon 500 X

The LDX guide, now in its fourth year, uses a selection process created over decades of researching and reporting on the legal profession and more than a century in legal journalism. Alongside industry research and peer feedback, editors consider thousands of nominations of lawyers from around the globe who’ve proven themselves early in private practice, accruing credentials, deals, and cases early and often. The majority of lawyers have been in practice between seven and fifteen years. Most of those recognized are partners in their firms, most often elevated in the past few years. They are emerging in leadership positions in their practice and firm.
