2026 Giles Rich Intellectual Property Moot Court
Oral Advocacy: March 13–15, 2026
Suffolk University, Boston
Senior Counsel Gary C. Ganzi volunteered to review briefs and serve as a judge for the oral advocacy portion of the 2026 Giles Rich Moot Court. The national competition is run under the auspices of the American Intellectual Property Law Association. Participants research a problem, write at least one appellate brief, and present an oral argument before panels of judges. The moot court problem this year concerns tying and claim construction.
Regional oral arguments will be taking place at Suffolk University on Friday, March 13th through Sunday, March 15th and are hosted locally by the BIPLA.
About the Competition
The Giles Sutherland Rich Memorial Moot Court competition is named for the late Honorable Giles Sutherland Rich, Circuit Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. The competition is an annual inter-law school event sponsored by the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA). The competition is made possible through the volunteer service of attorneys and judges across the U.S. and the AIPLA.
