Overview

Ari is a member of L&A’s Electronics and Computer Technology & Software groups, and he advises clients on a range of intellectual property issues, including patentability, freedom to operate, and infringement matters. Ari has extensive experience in computer-related fields such as networking, data storage, security, mobile interfaces, image and video compression, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing.

Prior to joining L&A, Ari worked as a patent associate at a Massachusetts IP firm where he drafted and filed numerous utility patent applications and successfully prosecuted patent applications in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He has years of experience in all facets of patent prosecution, including prior art searches, responding to Office Actions, managing domestic and foreign patent portfolios, and conducting Examiner interviews. He is registered to practice in Massachusetts, New York, at the U.S. Supreme Court, and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Ari received an A.B. degree cum laude in Computer Science from Harvard University, where he held leadership roles in Harvard Hillel and was a staff editor of The Harvard Crimson newspaper. He earned a J.D. and Certificate in Intellectual Property from Boston University School of Law. During law school, Ari was a clerk-intern assisting in research for Judge Alice Gibney of the Providence County Superior Court.

Ari has experience programming in several computer programming languages including C/C++, Java, LISP, and PERL.
