Overview

Amanda prosecutes patent applications domestically and abroad in a wide range of technologies, specializing in the fields of chemistry, and biotechnology. Her industry focus includes chemical and industrial process control, therapeutic and cosmetic formulations, water and waste treatment, cell culture, medical devices, circular economy innovations, energy and “green” technologies, consumer products, and specialty materials and coatings.

Amanda also has experience assisting in intellectual property portfolio planning and development at various stages of business growth. Amanda is committed to expanding her practice with start-up and early stage technologies, including those developing an initial intellectual property strategy and leveraging licensed technology for their growth.

Amanda brings several years of experience as a research scientist to her practice. She managed a genetics lab with a focus on cancer and cardiovascular research at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. The lab was successful in identifying several drugs, which inhibit specific genetic activity and block tumor growth in animal models. During her undergraduate years, Amanda was a research assistant in a drug delivery and molecular imaging lab at the Kennedy Krieger Institute. Amanda’s scientific career began in high school as a research assistant in a molecular lab at the University of Puerto Rico.

Amanda is fluent in Spanish and she is passionate about increasing Latinx and female representation in STEM and legal fields.
